DEFINITION OF TRACE PRECEDENTS & TRACE DEPENDENTS

Trace Precedents is the showing of the cells used to create the value in the highlighted cell.

The example in Figure 1 shows that cell with number 75 depends on the cell with number 25 and number 50 to compute its value.

Trace dependents shows the other cells that are dependent on the highlighted Cell.

The example in Figure 2 shows that cell with $83,33 and cell with $3,130.00 is dependent on the cell with $250,00 to compute its value.
